Intradigm is led by a strong senior management team with proven track record in drug development and successful team leadership.

PHILIP HAWORTH, JD, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Haworth was appointed chief executive officer of Intradigm in October 2008 after serving as the company’s vice president of business development. He came to Intradigm in May 2007 having spent the previous 15 years in senior business development roles at several leading biotechnology companies including Genencor International, COR Therapeutics and Affymax/Affymetrix, among others. In these positions, he led the identification and negotiation of numerous collaborative and licensing agreements with a range of global and regional pharmaceutical companies. He most recently served as vice president, business development at Codexis, Inc. He possesses deep deal–making expertise that spans establishing discovery and development partnerships, technology and product in– and out–licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and financing support.

Dr. Haworth earned his J.D. from Stanford University Law School and his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Manchester in the U.K. He also received his bachelor’s degree with first class honors in physiology and biochemistry from the University of Southampton in the U.K.

MICHAEL RILEY, JD, M.Sc.
Vice President of Intellectual Property & Corporate Development

Mr. Riley joined Intradigm in August 2006. In addition to leading the company’s operations (finance, legal, HR & IT), Mr. Riley has responsibility for all of our intellectual property activities. Mr. Riley brings with him over ten years of operational, intellectual property and international business experience. Most recently he held various positions in Europe and the U.S. with Amgen, Abgenix and Celltech Group PLC.

Mr. Riley obtained his JD with distinction from University of North Dakota School of law, and his M Sc from University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

XIAO-DONG YANG, M.D., Ph.D.
Vice President of Research & Preclinical Development

Dr. Yang joined Intradigm in September 2006. Prior to joining Intradigm, Dr. Yang was Senior Director of Cancer Pharmacology at Abgenix (now Amgen). While at Abgenix, he was the project team leader for Vectibix™ (panitumumab) and played a key role in discovery, development and BLA submission of Vectibix™. Dr. Yang was also Senior Director of the Oncology Program team responsible for setting strategy and managing Abgenix oncology project portfolio. He was in charge of managing collaborations with corporate partners including the oncology collaboration with AstraZeneca. He joined Abgenix in 1995 as one of the founding scientists and built the company’s preclinical development capability for both oncology and inflammation.

Dr. Yang received his medical degree from Beijing Medical University, China and was awarded his doctorate in Immunology from University of Bern, Switzerland. He did his postdoctoral training at Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Stanford University. Dr. Yang was also a postdoctoral fellow at Department of Inflammation and Allergy, Novartis. He has published more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and is inventor on over 15 issued and pending patents.

SAMUEL ZALIPSKY, Ph.D.
Vice President of Technology Development

Dr. Zalipsky joined Intradigm in May 2007 with 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. He comes to Intradigm following eight–year tenure with ALZA Corporation (J&J Company) during which he established and managed programs focused on delivery of biopharmaceuticals, PEGylated proteins, and targeted delivery of liposomes. Prior to his work with ALZA, he held key technology positions with SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals and Enzon Inc., while also serving as a visiting associate professor in the chemistry department of Rutgers University. Dr. Zalipsky possesses broad drug delivery expertise that spans several important areas including chemistry of peptides, polymers for bio-medical application, bioconjugates with drugs, peptides/proteins, saccharides, lipids/liposomes, and nanoparticles. He has co–authored over 80 papers, is listed as an inventor on over 40 U.S. patents and currently serves on editorial advisory boards of several technical journals.

Dr. Zalipsky received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He earned both a master’s degree in chemistry and bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biochemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
